Senior C++ Engineer – Storage Domain

Job Description

Screen2Hire Consulting LLP is hiring on behalf of a leading technology client for a Senior C++ Engineer role within the Storage Engineering team.

This position offers an opportunity to work on large-scale enterprise storage and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms, contributing to the design, development, and enhancement of high-performance software solutions used by global customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C++, Linux systems programming, multi-threaded application development, and storage technologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain software components for enterprise storage and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms.
2. Contribute across the complete software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, debugging, and release activities.
3. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer-reported and internal product issues.
4. Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
5. Review code, designs, and defect fixes to ensure product quality and maintainability.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in an Agile development environment.
7. Provide technical leadership and mentorship while remaining hands-on in development activities.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

1. Strong hands-on experience in C/C++ development.
2. Experience developing software in Linux-based environments.
3. Strong understanding of multi-threaded programming and concurrent systems.
4. Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system-level programming.
5. Experience building and maintaining large-scale enterprise software products.
6. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.

Domain Expertise

Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

1. Enterprise Storage Systems
2. Storage Virtualization
3. Software Defined Storage (SDS)
4. Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI)
5. SAN / NAS Technologies
6. Distributed Storage Platforms

Preferred Skills

1. Scripting experience using Python, Bash, Perl, Shell, awk, sed, or grep.
2. Familiarity with Git version control.
3. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
4. Exposure to Gradle or similar build automation tools.
5. Experience working in Agile development environments.
