Lead R&D Engineer – EDA Tool & Software Architecture

Job Description

Our client is a world-class Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and Silicon IP product giant, engineering the core software tools and verification IPs that power the global semiconductor ecosystem.

Target Level & Seniority: Lead R&D Software Engineer (8–12+ Years)

Key Professional Responsibilities:

1. Design, construct, and optimize cutting-edge software algorithms (complex graph theories, computational geometry, spatial placement/routing algorithms) inside native EDA product platforms.
2. Analyze structural digital circuit characteristics to author high-concurrency, multi-threaded C++ execution loops for synthesis engines, STA platforms, or formal verification tools.
3. Architect and integrate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models directly into legacy EDA simulation tools to maximize pre-layout PPA prediction modeling speeds.
4. Profile, optimize, and refactor codebases to reduce memory footprint and execution runtime bottlenecks when parsing multi-billion gate chip designs.

Core Technical Competencies Required:

1. Software Mastery: Advanced production C++ (C++14/17/20), complex Data Structures, STL optimization, advanced Graph Algorithms, Multi-threading, and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
2. Hardware Contextualization: Foundations in Digital Circuit Logic, Verilog/VHDL structural parsing, RTL Synthesis principles, Gate-level Netlists, and Physical Layout boundaries.
