ECAD / PCB Design Engineer

Job Description

We are hiring experienced ECAD / PCB Design Engineers for a leading global engineering organization. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in multilayer PCB design using Cadence Allegro and a solid understanding of PCB development from schematic interpretation through manufacturing outputs. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex electronic hardware designs supporting advanced industrial products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and develop multilayer Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) using Cadence Allegro and, where applicable, Altium Designer.
2. Create PCB layouts from schematic through Gerber file generation, including layer stack-up definition and manufacturing deliverables.
3. Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT) checks.
4. Modify and enhance existing PCB designs based on engineering change requests and customer requirements.
5. Prepare and maintain electrical documentation, including wiring harnesses, connectors, and related drawings using AutoCAD.
6. Create, update, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
7. Interpret component datasheets to support PCB layout, footprint creation, and component placement.
8. Ensure adherence to internal engineering standards, quality processes, and PCB design best practices.
9. Collaborate closely with hardware, mechanical, manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Required Skills

1. 4–7 years of experience in ECAD / PCB Design.
2. Strong hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro.
3. Experience designing multilayer PCBs.
4. Good understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and Gerber generation.
5. Experience with DFM, DFA, and DFT methodologies.
6. Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.
7. Strong knowledge of electronic components and circuit fundamentals.
8. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
9. Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, or other PCB CAD tools.
2. Knowledge of IPC standards.
3. Understanding of EMI/EMC and Signal Integrity considerations for analog, digital, and high-speed PCB designs.
4. Experience using AutoCAD for electrical drawings.
5. Exposure to PTC Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) is an added advantage.

Education

1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.

Work Model

1. Office-based role with a hybrid work model (minimum four days per week from the office).
